Our ingredients

FROM THE LAND:

Quinoa: a very nutritionally dense superfood because it has all nine of the essential amino acids. On top of that, it’s tasty too!

Rice Protein: as one of nature’s oldest plants to be cultivated by mankind, rice is not to be  underestimated in its versatility as a food ingredient.

Pea Protein: no, these are not the ‘mushy peas’ some Brits like to eat with their fish and chips! Pea protein is an ingredient made by taking the protein from yellow peas. On top of that it is, a high-quality protein and a great source of iron.

Fava Beans: high in fibre and low in saturated fats, they are one of the oldest domesticated legumes. They are also an excellent source of magnesium and potassium.

Potato Protein: there’s nothing like the noble ‘spud’ to give taste and smooth textures.

Micro Algae: we work with cultivated micro-algae, which are rich in protein, healthy fats and other nutrients. They also have detoxifying properties.

Mushrooms & Mycelium: whether it’s the crunchy base of oyster mushrooms in our crab salad or the intense juices from cooking mushroom that give us that ‘umami’ flavor – we believe this is only the beginning.

Mycoprotein: an edible fungus – derived through a fermentation process from sidestreams of corn and wheat. It’s not only high in protein and a complete source of amino acids, but also high in fibre and low in total fat. It has no cholesterol and is a source of key micronutrients. Keep an eye out on our developments with this one!

FROM THE SEA:

Seawater: we use seawater from the Oosterschelde, a protected marine reserve in Zeeland – known as one of the cleanest waters in Europe. Before blending it in our products, the seawater undergoes a patented purification process. We like to think that we also help a little in preventing rising sea levels! 😉

Seaweed: we use the most tasty and nutritious varieties of seaweed. We work with farmed-at-sea as well as land-based seaweed farmers across Europe, the UK and the Mediterranean Sea. Selected seaweeds are rich in protein, omega fatty acids and other nutrients. If the monkeys ate it and got smarter along the way, so should we!
